Overview Care Manager role at Sunrise Senior Living. The Care Manager/“Designated Care Manager” provides high-quality care and services to a consistent group of residents and their families in our assisted living/long term care and reminiscence neighborhoods, following each resident’s ISP and Sunrise standards, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities Resident Care: document and learn about residents through Daily Log; participate in ISP development and updates; monitor designated residents; observe and document changes in condition; respond to security systems and resident call bells; greet guests, residents, and team members; assist with continence management and sanitation; communicate with families; support residents’ independence and safety; facilitate ADLs and IEA participation; engage residents in life skills and reminiscence activities; maintain warmth and dignity in interactions; follow safety regulations and standard care precautions; host and engage in daily activities.
Risk Management and Safety: ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations; use PPE, fire safety equipment, SDS, and lockout/tagout procedures; report accidents and hazards; keep pathways clear and comply with fire codes; handle exposure to blood and bodily materials safely.
Housekeeping and Laundry: clean and maintain resident rooms; launder resident clothing; manage dining room linens; complete assigned housekeeping tasks; maintain tidy common areas.
Dining Service: serve and assist in the dining room; promote pleasant dining experiences; follow ISP dietary requirements; document dining changes; provide room service as needed; practice safe food handling.
Reminiscence Neighborhood Care Manager: engage residents in life skills and social activities; support creation of pleasant days; tailor routines to individual life skills and daily activities; incorporate multi-sensory experiences.
Training and Team Contribution: participate as a team member; uphold Team Member Credo and Sunrise Principles of Service; contribute to engagement programs and surveys; attend meetings and trainings; comply with infection control and regulatory requirements; perform other duties as assigned.
Core Competencies: remain calm under pressure; manage multiple priorities; communicate effectively; demonstrate organizational and time-management skills; exercise good judgment and decision-making.
Qualifications High School diploma/GED (as required by state/provincial regulations)
CPR and First Aid as required by state/provincial regulations
Must be at least 18 years of age
Prior experience with seniors preferred
Desire to serve and care for seniors; act in residents’ best interest
Ability to drive safety and regulatory compliance for Sunrise vehicles, if applicable
