Founded in 1819, the University of Cincinnati is a public research university with a strong clinical and research mission. The fast-growing Department of Biostatistics, Health Informatics and Data Sciences seeks a full-time physician, fellowship trained in Clinical Informatics, to improve system services, promote maximum efficiency of health information technologies and implement best practices to enhance the productivity of clinical systems. Rank is commensurate with experience.
Essential Functions
Functions as a consultant and leader to drive digital strategy and inform the design optimization, and enhancement of solutions across the department.
Collaboratively participates in the selection, implementation, and support of clinical systems and other health information technologies.
Provides education, mentoring and support to staff and learners in the use of technology to promote patient safety, quality care, and compliance.
Collaborates with leaders to effectively implement information technology solutions that support clinical care, research, and education.
Keeps up to date on new and current technologies, regulations, and market influences affecting healthcare information management.
Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to assess the effects of health information technology solutions on clinical care workflows, and identify opportunities to enhance quality of care.
Identify, develop, and implement educational and training programs focused on computer skills and competencies in utilizing electronic tools for patient care, quality management, resource optimization, and performance improvement.
Work with cross-disciplinary teams to create innovative techniques for examining and presenting data.
Maintain an independently funded research program and strong publication record related to clinical informatics with faculty, providers, and trainees.
Maintain clinical practice in their field.
Minimum Requirements
Medical Degree (MD or DO).
Licensure by the State of Ohio Medical Board.
Board certified or board eligible in clinical specialty.
Active DEA license.
Required Experience
Successful record of research funding.
Strong record of publications.
Experience in mentoring research faculty and trainees.
Demonstrated knowledge of outcomes, research methodology, and implementation.
Additional Qualifications Considered
Optimization of Epic or other electronic medical record functionality experience is ideal.
Performance improvement experience is ideal.
Data driven medical decision making experience is ideal.
