Highlights
As an Advanced Respiratory Therapy Clinical Educator, you will:

Develop staff through teaching, consulting, facilitating, and leading change initiatives.

Support the development of new and current staff, fostering empowerment and knowledge through evidence-based practice and adult learning principles.

Use the Benner Model to guide staff from novice to expert via competency assessment, development, and evaluation.

Serve as a role model for professional behavior and may perform additional duties within scope.

Summary
The position requires expertise in Respiratory Therapy, including education, research, and leadership development. Responsibilities include curriculum development, classroom teaching, and leading quality improvement initiatives.

Education / Experience
Graduate from a school of Respiratory Therapy. Bachelor’s degree required in a health science related field; Master’s degree preferred.

At least 3 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist required; educational experience in a clinical or academic setting preferred.

License / Certification
Active ASBRT RRT license required; NBRC RRT required; BLS required. Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) may be required depending on area assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of principles of adult education.

Evidence of commitment to continuing education.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Effective communication, both verbal and written.

Ability to develop curriculum and teach in a classroom setting.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
Requires sitting for 30% of the workday and mobility for 70%. Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Frequent reaching, use of hands, and repetitive actions. Requires occasional lifting up to 15 pounds or pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds. Must speak with clear diction and hear within conversation, maintain visual acuity at close and distant ranges. Occupant conditions: indoor protected from weather, minimal noise levels, computer work exposure, occasional electrical shock, infectious disease, hazardous chemicals, radiation exposure.
